  This campsite is beautiful, with breathtaking views over the Spanish mountains. The experience however was underwhelming. A hundred hidden costs regarding our tents and the provision of electricity meant we ended up paying about twice as much as we had planned for, and the owners were frankly rude. One of the menu items was Paella, with a stipulation that you had to let them know you wanted it beforehand. After making it very clear he was annoyed we had ordered it, the Australian chef/barman eventually gave us the most tasteless, blandest, greasiest Paella I’ve ever seen, for which we had to pay 12 euros each! Each guest seemed to have a different story of how this man had offended him, he creates a very uncomfortable atmosphere. When he eventually snapped at my daughter for trying to feed one of the dogs we decided enough was enough and left three days early. Do not make the same mistake we did, it may have featured in travel books in years gone by but this place must have different owners and was a nightmare.

  The staff were very nice and some of them spoke very good English and helped us with trekking routes.

  The campsite is kept very nice, as well are the toilet and shower facilities.

  We stayed there because we were trekking in the mountains. There are a lot of marked tracks going out of trevelez up to the mountains.

  Good campsite with English speaking reception. Good place to start local hikes from.

  The campsite is situated a couple of km from the city of trevelez, but there is a path leading all the way, which cuts it a bit shorter.

  There are ants everywhere on this campsite, and they are very very big.
